The Real Cause of the Drought

I have trouble these days telling sarcasm or parody from, well, profound stupidity.

I have heard from scientists that there are SPONGES growing in the OCEAN. Has no one seriously looked into this as a problem? I have seen scientific charts showing that there is a water cycle, and that water from the ocean is what rains on us. With less water in the ocean (from the greedy absorptioning sponges) there is less rain, which means that there is more drought! We need to get rid of these "natural" sponges to save our crops.

Maybe we should alternate each year. First, we'll put an extra hour of sunlight out there through daylight saving time like we do today. The next year, we'll come up with something called daylight waning time. We'll actually have one hour less daylight each day, and put some of the moisture back. Voila! Problem solved.

In case this article is not saracasm, please realize that the number of hours of sunshine on any given day is set by astronomical default and not by any artificial rearrangement of the clock. Al Gore might be interested in your suggestion, though, so he could use it as propaganda on our society which has been dumbed-down by programmed ignorance.
